Traffic Incidents related to James Street, East Toowoomba, QLD

There is a traffic incident on the down section of the Toowoomba Range heading Eastbound. Eastbound lanes are closed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes via the Murphys Creek diversion route. This diversion route is not suitable for vehicles over 42.5 tonnes GVM or longer than 19 metres.

A B-double has failed to negotiate the corner of James and Cohoe Streets and has gone through the guardrail, hit a power pole and is located in the front yard of a property.
Westbound lanes (up the Toowoomba Range) are closed to heavy vehicles between Withcott and the top of the Range.
The down lanes of the Toowoomba Range remain unaffected.
Westbound lanes are shut at the intersection of Cohoe and Herries Street to all vehicles.
Small vehicles travelling up the range are being diverted via Herries Street.
B-double is in the process of being removed.
Power lines are down due to incident and Ergon are on site working towards restoring power.

There is a stationary truck on James St westbound between MacArthur St and Geddes St blocking the left lane.

There is a breakdown 300m above the saddle westbound on the Toowoomba Range and the left lane is blocked.

A traffic incident has occurred on the Warrego Highway, eastbound 2km from the top of the Toowoomba Range. The road is currently closed and under police direction. Delays in the area are unknown at this stage.

Due to an earlier traffic incident on the Warrego Highway, eastbound 2km from the top of the Toowoomba Range the left lane eastbound is closed.

Disruption to traffic on the Toowoomba Range -
Due to continued rainfall in and around the Toowoomba area, several minor rock slides have occurred on the Toowoomba Range in the past 24 hours. As a result, drivers are asked to take care and drive to the conditions.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads will continue to monitor road conditions on the range, and will attend to any rock slides as quickly as possible.

There is a diesel spill on the Warrego Highway heading up the Toowoomba Range. As a result there is a westbound diversion via Murphy's Creek. B-Doubles are not able to use this diversion. Eastbound traffic will experience delays as the right lane is blocked. It is expected the range will open again at 5:30pm.
