Traffic Incidents related to Kennedy Highway, Macalister Range, QLD

There is a major diesel spill in the eastbound lane on the Kuranda Range. The road is reduced to one lane whilst crews clean the road. Delays can be expected during the morning peak.
This spill has continued southbound along the Captain Cook Highway from Smithfield towards Cairns City. Maintenance crews are currently establishing the extent of the spill.

There is a diesel spill in the northbound inside lane on the Caravonica Roundabout, Captain Cook Highway in Smithfield. Road surface is slippery and motorists are advised to slow down and negotiate the road with caution.

Due to problems with roadworks at Smithfield Roundabout there is MAJOR CONGESTION on the Captain Cook Highway from Yorkeys Knob northbound & Cairns Western Arterial Road from Redlynch Eastbound. Motorists are advised of lenghty delays.

There has been a traffic incident at the Caravonica Roundabout in the right hand lane southbound. Access to Caravonica is currenlty blocked from this direction and under traffic control. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. Your patience is appreciated.
