Minor Delays can be expected due to a CRASH on the Captain Cook Hwy, at the McGregor Rd roundabout in Smithfield.

Challenge Cairns Triathlon is being held today (5 June 2011) from 8.00am. Motorists are advised of traffic delays between Yorkeys Knob and Port Douglas due to changed traffic conditions.
Changes to road conditions include:
* Full road closure of Captain Cook Hwy from Buchans Point to Port Douglas from 6.00am to 4.30pm.
* Partial road closure of Captain Cook Hwy from Airport Ave, Cairns North to Palm Cove from 9.30am to 8.30pm.
* Full road closure of Captain Cook Hwy from Discovery Drive, Kewarra Beach to Vievers Rd, Palm Cove from 9.30am to 10.30am.
Traffic travelling between Cairns & Port Douglas will be diverted via Mareeba & Mt Molloy on the Kennedy Hwy, Mulligan Hwy & Mossman – Mt Molloy Rd. This is a diversion of approximately 83kms.
