Motorists are advised of a series of grass fires in the vicinity of Mica Creek Road, Mount Isa. Emergency crews are on site and back burning in the area between the Diamantina Developmental Road and the Mount Isa Golf Course. Motorists are advised to drive to prevailing conditions.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service advise a large smoke haze is covering Mount Isa, as a result of a south-easterly wind change. The smoke haze is expected to last for several days. All fire activity is currently burning in inaccessible country and is being monitored by fire crews and no houses are under threat. Motorists should take extra care and drive to conditions.
