Once this traffic switch is complete:
- Traffic will travel in single lane on both alignments
- 60km speed restriction will remain in place
- Black River Road and Bowden Road intersections configuration of left in left out will b permanently in place.
- U turn facilities for northbound and south bound traffic will be implemented.
Works are continuing on the project, with the project due for completion later this year.

Nightly closures of the intersection of Black River Road and the Bruce Highway will occur from Sunday 20 August through to Friday 25 August between the hours of 7pm and 5am. The intersection will be reopened to all movements outside of these hours.
The nightly temporary closures are required so works can occur to rehabilitate the northbound lanes of the Bruce Highway.
A detour will be in place during the closure hours via Pope and McKinnon Roads.
To access Black River Road from the Bruce Highway, residents and motorists must turn into Pope Road and follow McKinnon Road to Black River Road.
To access the Bruce Highway from Black River Road, residents and motorists must turn onto McKinnon Road and follow McKinnon Road to Pope Road.
