The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking routine maintenance works on a bridge near Wahpunga Lane on the Gympie—Kin Kin Road. The bridge, known as Kin Kin Creek No. 1, requires a replacement bridge deck and new wearing surface.
The works will typically take place at night, requiring temporary road closures. Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected while the work site is made safe to allow vehicles to pass.
Key works
• Replacing the plywood bridge deck.
• Application of new asphalt wearing surface.
• Guardrail to be removed and reinstated during every shift, to facilitate access for plant and to enable plywood decking to be removed and replaced.
• Reinstating linemarking and delineation.
What to expect
• Works are scheduled to begin in late October 2024 and will take approximately three weeks to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting.
• Majority of the works will be undertaken at night between 6pm and 6am, Sunday to Thursday.
