This package of work is being delivered under the High Risk Roads safety upgrade program to address safety concerns along several state-controlled roads in Townsville. These works will provide safe travelling conditions for all road users.
These works include:
• Update and refresh dedicated bike lanes on both sides of the road, including updating and remodelling median on Walker Street side of intersection
• Update line marking on Hamilton Street to incorporate extension of bike lane
• Upgrade curb on lower side of Hamilton Street
• Remove right hand turning filter at signals
• Lanes will only be reduced during the hours of construction
